The scanner has self-test program to determine cable, adaptor or other communication hardware issue. There are three program availble:

1) Host self-test - Test the main scanner motherboard hardware. It must be only AC adaptor to be connected.

Test main unit without testing cable or adaptor. But it needs AC adaptor.

2) Open circuit test (main cable (or + OBD16)+ self-test adaptor + AC adaptor), which to test main table or OBD 16 failure

Test main cable (DB15) and OBD II 16 adaptor, with AC adaptor, main cable, OBD II 16 and self-test adaptor

3) Short circuit test  (main cable (or +OBD16) + AC adaptor),  which to test main table or OBD 16 failure
